What an exciting event last night! The city has been buzzing in anticipation over the announcement we were getting ready to make and we couldn’t be more happy to have finally let the cat out of the bag!

The Fashion Design Council of Canada is pleased to welcome World MasterCard as the new title sponsor for our Fall/2012 collections, taking place this March at David Pecaut Square in the heart of downtown Toronto. Together we welcome you, and thousands of media, industry and guests from Toronto and far beyond to come together March 12th – 17th as we showcase over 60 designers from Canada and abroad.

Working with MasterCard allows us to fully explore the opportunities of Stylicity, the official retail program of World MasterCard Fashion Week. Stay tuned as we bring together the high-fashion runway and the every day fashion fan and prove what we all already know, Toronto is a global destination for all things fashionable!
And what better way to toast a fabulous new partnership than a cocktail with some fabulous friends!

Last night all of Toronto’s fashion family gathered at the stunning Royal Conservatory of Music to hear Robin Kay make the big announcement along with Betty DeVitta, president of MasterCard Canada. Stacey McKenzie worked the crowd in the most dangerous looking stilettos as if they were bedroom slippers and Shawn Hewson dazzled us all with his infectious smile. Of course Anita Clarke and Leesa Butler looked ravishing, and it was great to catch up with Lana Lowen and the iconic Sandy Stag. We were also pleased to welcome Councillor Michael Thompson to the event!

The mood of the evening was as effervescent as the champagne in the flutes and we can’t wait to welcome you to the first ever World MasterCard Fashion Week! Until then, stay fabulous!
